Usrach is a guardian demon bound to the Pandaemonium in Godsgift by a contract made when the building stood as a temple to [[Eres Ffenegh|Ffen]]. He first appears in the novel as the silent doorman of the Pandemonium's Upper Parlour, a fixture of the establishment run by [[Widow|Abellaime, 'the Widow']], and does not speak his own name until he offers his service to [[Kiffel ea Leachan]] one evening after she is turned away from the Widow's rooms; from that point he is known as Usrach rather than simply "the doorman."
