Pravil
Pravil is a servant of the Armiger who appears in a single scene in City of Last Chances, at the lower social margins of the Armiger's household retinue. They surface briefly, drunk and combative, in a tavern alongside a fellow Armiger servant, Vinchec, and serve in the narrative only as a minor obstacle to Yasnic-a street-level instance of the contempt and factional suspicion that festers in the city when the resistance is under pressure.
Their function in the book is entirely atmospheric and episodic. Pravil contributes nothing to the plot's trajectory beyond a moment of physical aggression that is quickly defused by bystanders and settled with a financial penalty. In the broader architecture of the novel, the figure registers as one of many small, disposable encounters that populate Yasnic's movement through Pel's taverns and back-alley politics, illustrating the disorder and resentment that simmer among ordinary Armiger retainers as the night war intensifies.
Pravil's entire textual existence is confined to Chapter 33 of City of Last Chances; they are neither named nor mentioned before or after that scene.

When Yasnic confronts them, asking why they are not with the resistance, out with their swords and hunting batons, Pravil responds with "Well why aren't you?" and shoves him. Other patrons in the tavern intervene, forcing Pravil and Vinchec to pay for Yasnic's drink as restitution for their mockery and physical aggression - ch 33.
