Fever Lodge is a small apothecary and healing-house in the Sand Lanes of Alkhalend, the city's poorest quarter, whose public function is the dispensing of foreign medicines. In Lives of Bitter Rain the Lodge appears only as a waypoint on a solitary walk through Alkhalend's margins, a passing detail in the city's geography of poverty and foreign influence.
